Web-Safe Color Palette, Extended

These are the 216 colors which any web browser should be able to display without dithering and thus display more quickly and accurately.  Thus, when creating graphics for the Internet, it's best to use these colors whenever possible.

Using Color Names

To use color names in place of hex codes for a limited color subset (16 colors), use the following, bold-face, official W3C color names.  Hex codes which are part of the 216 non-dithering colors are also bold-faced.  The other color names are supported by most browsers, but are not official.  Most of the names below are not a part of the W3C web standard.  If you want valid HTML or CSS guaranteed, use the HEX values instead.  For fastest loading, non-dithering colors by name, use only those below whose hex code is also bold-faced.
